Wipe-out

2wice in the past 6 months i have run into a annoying problem..

I will comeback to my computer and everything is gone playlists songs everything.. looks like a fresh install... i noticed once i had not fullly let it eject.. so my bad..

but this morning i came down and windows automatic updates had restarted my computer.

again all itunes info gone except the program

My Actual Music IS NOT EFFECTED but it is a pain loading many gigs over and over...

any thoughts?

Oh i shut off autoupdates

If I recall correctly, there's a specific file that contains the index to your library and all your playlists. Somehow it is getting overwritten. I'd make a point of backing it up somewhere. I can't recall the extension. .itl maybe? Someone here will know and likely respond shortly.

If you keep this backed up. You can replace the "original" with the back up when iTunes decides to wipe itself out and it will restore it to the day of the back up. I try to make daily back ups of this file, at least weekly, and certainly after every major music addition.
