Syncing Photos

This takes forever looks like iTunes syncs all the pictures every time. You watch it is says formating photo 1 of 3677 for you iPod, 2 of 3677 etc...

Why?

I mean can not iTunes see your photos have not changed? Why does it need to sync all your photos every time?

If iTunes formats my photos for my iPod why can I not see them when I select them on my iPod classic?

iTunes has to change the format of the photos to BMP and resize. The formatted photos are put into a cache on your hard drive. If that cache is disturbed or emptied then it has to reformat them again.

I would recommend that you reduce the number of pictures to make your life easier.

I don't believe the iPod classic can show photos, it should not sync them to it. I may be wrong though.
