iTUNES Sharing one PC

Hope this is clear. I have a 300 GB media PC in the basement, which i have iTUNES loaded on with 60 GBs of music. I have a 80 GB PC in my office with iTUNES on it also. I want to delete the library off of office PC and free up hard drive space and use the basements hardrive as the storage for both PCs. The PCs are networked wirelessly. Can both PCs share the music?? Will this work? What problems may I encounter? I will backup the music on an external hard drive.

Any and all comments will be greatly appreciated...thanks in advance.

Yes this is possible. It works. But you can't sync your iPod with anything other than the basement PC after you do this.

You will most likely have to recreate all your playlists by hand after you merge the files.

Thanks for reply....I have 3 iPODS...2 will sync with the basement PC and one will sync with the office PC.

If I understand u correctly playlist made in office will have to be made...synced with iPOD and then deleted off of office PC.

Am I tracking...thanks again.

No, if you want to use the Office PC to sync, you have to keep the music and podcasts on the Office PC that you want to sync. You can't sync with the office PC using a shared library from the Basement PC.

You can however share both the basement and office PC libraries and listen to them on any of your PCs. Just not sync and iPod anywhere.

We have 4 iPods with only 1-10% overlap of shared files, the rest being completely independent. We all sync to one library.
