Problem adding TV Shows to iTunes
I have 12 episodes of a Japanese drama. I want to make then TV Shows. So I go to add the folder, and they pop up in the Movies section. I go to "Get Info" and add the titles, show, and making sure they appear in TV Shows. When I click the OK button, it gives me a loading bar saying "Configuring Tags" and it takes forever. I wait 10 minutes, and it still does it. I just click stop, and it automatically adds to the TV Shows section. I do that pain- staking move for all the TV Shows, unaware that when they all go to the TV Shows section, I try to click them and play (both double click and hi- lighting it and clicking the play icon up above) and it doesn't play. I then delete the TV Shows and try this method with another series. It doesn't have any problem with the other series, and plays fine in the TV Shows area. Now I go to attempt it again with the same TV Series, and it doesn't add to the Movies or TV Shows sections when I go to add them from my External Hard Drive (It gives me a loading bar saying "Processing MP4 Files...) and they don't appear, even in the "Recently Added" area on iTunes. So I try these methods...
1. Close down iTunes and reload. No good.
2. Moving the directory to a different area (to a different folder), and nothing still.
3. Tried restarting my computer, still doesn't add.
I am really confused and would like some help to add them again. Thank you.

Post a screen shot or type what the tags for the show look like. Did any of the shows play before you tried to change it to a TV show? Were the tags in Japanese or English?
It sounds like the tags have been messed up when you stopped it before it was finished changing the tags. Remove the files from the ext HD and readd the show to iTunes again if you still have the original files.

Well, I can no longer add them to iTunes, so there is no way I can post a screenshot to show how they are writing the tags. The tags were in Japanese. What I only see now is they try to "process" themselves before nothing happens.
I have also tried moving the files to my computer's HD, and it still doesn't add. I am currently trying to convert them to avi, and back to iPod mp4 format again, so maybe they would re-do the tags to add correctly.

Also try changing the tags to the English equivalent before adding them to iTunes and see if you experience the same problem. It might be Japanese characters that caused the problem. Try one episode first.

How do you change tags? Like the file name or something else? I tried changing the file name to english and did not add.

Then maybe it's the file. Are you downloading this off of the internet or are the programs from a DVD? What software are you using to convert them? What OS are you using?

The TV Series is on a DVD, I use Xilisoft Video to iPod Converter, and I am using Windows XP SP 2. The strange thing is they added fine until the tags messed up. What are tags and how can I either change or make them default?
Oh yeah, and I have the latest iTunes (7.4.1)

Hi BlackHawk,
to me sounds like there is something wrong with the tags; something very similar happened to me once with a DVD I converted with IMTOO DVD to iPod Converter, I think there were some strange7hidden chars in the tags that were messing up everything.
I solved it by editing the Tags with TaggerJava (Edited the tags first and then imported to iTunes). You can download it for free at the following url:

Yeah... didn't work. I try playing it in different players, and it gives me an error saying one or more atoms are missing. I have to go replace the file, which means I have to rerip it. Oh well.
