Apple still thinks that nothing was ever wrong the the iPod Touch!

I keep reading that "Apple has recognized the problem" and "you can take it back to the store with no problem". What have these people been smoking?!
I called them up yesterday. I called up Apple to see if I could get my restocking fee back. I was on hold for about 35 minutes and talked to three people and none of them were aware of any problem. WHAT THE @#%*!!! When I call, why do the most ignorant employees of technical support try to help me? For all of the time that I have wasted on this I would like an apology from Apple.

Has anything new happened that I am not aware of?

Apple has never officially acknowledged anything. Acknowledgement came in the form of Mossberg saying Apple knew about the problem and the fixed screens in week 38 iPods.

If you talk to an Apple CSR who is unaware of the issue, then tell them you are quoting from the Wall Street Journal write up on the iPod which says Apple is aware of screen defects.

Too much to recap, there's tons of threads that explain it. In a nutshell week 36 and week 37 ipods that launched last week had screen issues, week 38s don't.

i think what are asking about refers to the week in the calender year that an ipod was manufactured.

According to sources, Apple shut down two factories to fix the LCD issues.

They have acknowledged it. They even told Walk Mossberg that they were aware of it and that it was being remedied, and he relayed that message in his review.

And it's all in the past now, anyway. Any new iPod touches will have the proper working LCD. End of story.

I think you miss the point. Some people were forced to pay a restocking fee when they did change out or return their touch and now apple is refusing to do the right thing and return this money to them. Apple has not acknowledged the issue with their own employees

Exactly!!!
I don't know what this end of story business is, but Apple and especially there employees still won't emit that there is or ever was a problem. People like Wilder get me very angry thinking that everything is OK, because it's not. It won't be the "end of story" until I and other people get there $40.00 restocking fee back.
