Screen Comparison: Week 38 Touch vs. original iPhone
OK, so now that we've got some properly functioning screens, let's revisit the screen comparison issue. How does quality of the display on the screen of the iPod touch from the week 38 batch compare to the display quality on the original iPhone (not the new ones that have also reported display problems)?
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks for your help.

i think it's the same Display, because iPhones had at the same time Problems with the screen.

It's the same Display!
That's not necessarily true. It has previously been reported that Apple is now using a different supplier for the screens. The dimensions of the screens are slightly different as well, with the touch being about 1mm smaller in both dimensions (but still roughly 3.5" diagonal).
Additionally an engineer on the Apple forums with some LCD experience indicated that it was brought to his attention that the screen on the original iPhone was bonded to the glass, where as the new screens have an air gap between the LCD and the glass.
