Are dead pixels considered acceptable by Apple?

Or is that worth a return?
I see at least two on the one I just picked up. Should I return it?

My DS had a couple of crazy pixels, but chances are they will deny noticing any dead pixels and won't think it's worthy of a return without a restocking fee $$$$ :p

well i called and they said bring it back within 2 weeks and if they have more in stock they'll swap it out for me but of course can't guarantee the next one will have less dead pixels. i am going to keep that return option in mind and decide over the next week or so whether i'll go through with a return.

I have at least 4 dead pixels on my iPod touch but I don't want to return it because it is a lottery as to if I will get a perfect model or another dodgy one - not to mention that my 14 days expires 2 days after the official release date!

I think it is more sensible to return it to Apple under warranty in which case you can guarantee a perfect screen will be put back on there.

Of course if we knew they were lots of perfect models in stock maybe I would go exchange it in store - and maybe I still will when they are in stock but as I said it is a lottery as to whether the screen will be good or bad!

In the meantime the dead pixels do not bother me so I can live with it as a few dead pixels does not spoil my enjoyment of a brilliant device!

I can't speak for iPod or iPhone, but I had two stuck pixels on my new iMac, and the Apple Store did an exchange on the same day, no questions asked. They said that the screen is supposed to be perfect-- that's what you paid for, and that's what you should get.

Keep in mind, this only applies during the first 14 days-- After that, you're in for a more difficult exchange, probably.
