Just back from Glasgow Apple store...
No
Why?
Well i have to say it is a very impressive device, i surfed, i played tunes , i watched video and on the whole it was easy to do.
The one i played with did not have any stuck pixels and i couldnt see the negative problem - the coldplay video is very dark and it looked fine.
BUT...i get the feeling that when the novelty wears off and i believe it will, i will be left with an Ipod that isnt as easy to use as my existing one.
Scrolling through the lists of artists etc was hit or miss i would either scroll straight passed what i wanted or fall way short, now i know i would get better at it but it isnt as precise as a scroll wheel, it also requires two hands to use properly.
Also the surfing was a little disappointing , you constantly have to resize and zoom everything , i used to use netfront on my sony clie and that was easier to use imo.
THe audio playback seems fine, slight hiss - tested by putting volume to 0 and switching unit on and off, disappears when playing tunes
Funny thing is i got the feeling that people are not sure what it is , the classic table was just as busy and it seemed they may think it is a computer/pda.
The shop assistants were trying to persuade me to return my new nano and buy a touch (seemed desperate), i decided against it.
Oh they have at least 15 16gb and 10 8gb left and that was only on display.
