Can removing Invisible Shield Ruin the Touch Screen?
I'm just curious if the IS can mess up the touch screen because when you peel it off, its stuck pretty good on the screen. Can the touch screen stretch? What material is the touch screen made off? Is it stretchable? Does it have a "bumpy effect like the DS? Heres a video http://youtube.com/watch?v=-urTekWP-tE Is the Ipod Touch screen have this effect?

The screen is glass so in short, No.

Can you guys (ones who have a iPhone or Ipod Touch) confirms that it doesn't have this "bumpy effect?"

Yeah, thats only if you use cheap protectors with adhesives. If you use invisible shield, it does not use any sort of adhesive, instead bonds with basically air particles with a silicone layer. It's 100% safe and you can take it off whenever even after two years and not see any trace of glue, sticky stuff, or what not. I have used it for my digicam and it literally is in perfect condition.

Im not worrying about adhesives but just wondering if the touchscreen can be stretched or something because the IS sticks pretty darn well.

No it is not stretched. It simply seals air out. Thats all it does.

yes im quoting myself.

When you touch the iPod screen, does it have a similar effect as the DS (shown on the video). Just need a couple more people to confirms this cause I already ordered the invisible shield and curious.

Why do you need the Invisible Shield for the iPod touch in the first place? The display is covered by optical glass. Glass, by its very design, is very durable and scratch-resistant.

Uh yeah. I don't thin you understand exactly what an invisible shield is. It is basically a thin piece of plastic, with the thing to stick to the screen being silicon and "bumpy". The camera they used is horrible quality and looks like the thing is moving a lot and that its all enitrely making bumps, but in actuality, it really is not like that. It simply bends. Usually covers for DS are actually the cruddy kind with the kind of adhesive that actually sticks to your screen and leaves marks after you pull it off, though the invisible shield is MUCH higher in quality and does not use that kind of adhesive.

I wonder if they'll make an invis shield for the back of the touch, because that would be awesome.
# 11 Re: Can removing Invisible Shield Ruin the Touch Screen?
They do. It's called the full body shield for 25 bucks. And I just typed this whole thing on my touch if you were wondering.

and I swear I hit reply just once. LOL, sorry guys.

Well they offer a shield for just the front of the ipod touch but not the back. I emailed them asking about this because the front is high grade optical glass and it's surrounded by a metal bezel. I just want a shield for the back so it won't get scratched up in my pocket or in the car, etc.
I would recommend more people call or email them asking for this so we don't have to buy the $30 shield when all we need is the $15 one for the back.

I would not bother with a shield for the glass front! I watched a salesman at Best Buy take his car keys to the iPod touch pretty vigorously, and it didn't suffer a single scratch.
You really don't need to be so paranoid about the screen. It's made to be touched and exposed. It's pretty strong.
The back, on the other hand, is a delicate stainless steel flower.

"Best Skins Ever" -- Less cost, same material. Invisible Shield really marks their stuff up a LOT.
And I agree-- The front doesn't need it. The back does.

OK, I've read a couple of people say it's not necessary to put the Invisible Shield over the screen, but say, hypothetically, that I did...would that increase the amount of glare on the screen? Also, would it make it appear "less detailed" or somewhat "foggy/cloudy"? Thanks for the input.
# 17 Re: Can removing Invisible Shield Ruin the Touch Screen?
Just....don't put a shield on it. I have an iPhone, and I use it just as I used my last phone (aka. not babying it, but not being overly rough with it) and it has no scratches on it at all. The front is NOT going to get scratched by normal use, and since it's an iPod, it'll likely get less over-all use than the iPhone, and it's made out of the same damn glass.
Trust me. Stop being paranoid. Its just going to be a waste of money.
