Safari and other video sites?
Hi everyone, I'm very intersted in buying the new ipod touch but have one question.
Does anyone know if Safari will be able to view other video sites besides youtube? I was thinking perhaps google video? If i remember correctly, youtube needs flash player to play the videos and other sites may use windows media player.

The iPod touch does not currently play flash videos. So most video sites would be ruled out. I have also been trying to look for some but have had little luck.

So dose that mean that the "Youtube" on the ipod is a special "ipod touch Only" site?
From the keynotes demo I saw the site which looked different from the normal site you get when you put in www.youtube.com. Steve talks about being able to view the top videos, so does that mean we are only limited to viewing the top ( insert number here) amount of videos? =(

If I am correct I think youtube switched all their videos from flahs to H.264(I think) which is the format that can play on the iPod Touch

no, u can see featured, catergories, and search for any video.

What about (shudder) QuickTime streams? I hate 'em, definitely not Apple's fort, but I'd hope that Safari would play nicely with them.
Any iPhone users care to enlighten us?

My friend has an iPhone and in safari you can play any video playable on the iPhone over the web, when you click on a mp4 video the ihone switches to video mode and plays it.
