unable to transfer of music to ipod

Hi
Can anyone help with the smallest ipod shuffle. I can't transfer music over to it. I have updated itunes and software for the ipod.

I looked under the manuals and it menions source list and options ...I cant find that anywhere.

According to the diagnostic test the connection status failed.

What should I do?

connect the ipod to the computer and open itunes. select the songs you want and drag them to the ipod shuffle picture.

Thanks for your reply ...however I couldn't do this as there was no ipod shuffle picture. I could 'see' the ipod and its contents but could not transfer...

...Now I thought I would do a restore ...BUT its telling me I cannot due to unknown error 1418 ...

HELP me please ?

The source list is the left most column in iTunes. Your shuffle should show up in that list when you connect to the computer.
