iPod Shuffle G2 and the "new" Shuffle are the same?

Hi!

I had a 1G Shuffle for 2 1/2 years and loved it.

Gave it to my girlfriend's son 2 weeks ago and bought a G3 Nano for me.

Now traded it for a new blue Shuffle 2G (or 2.5G?) (much better for eveyday use/on the motorbike/on the beach, without the need for remotes or cases...) and it asks for 7.2 iTunes or later...

My girlfriend's 9 month old 2G Shuffle works on iTunes 6 with updated software...

2G Shuffle doesn't work with iTunes 6, and the new iPods require 7.2 there is no actual hardware difference between the original 2Gs and the remixed 2Gs other than colors..which is probably why its making you upgrade so it can display the color in the iTunes application.

Sorry, I meant iTunes 7. Doesn't work with 7, we had iTunes in 3 PCs working, now only 2 (both at work).

If the new shuffles have any difference between the old colors then it *might* use a different database than the previous one..I know the classic/nano have a different way of working with iTunes database files...so maybe the remixed shuffle has changed as well which is why it requires a newer version of iTunes.

It requires 7.2 or up but still is compatible with Yamipod... my previous Nano G3 wasn't!

So it still has the old database... I guess.

Then the requirement is probably just because of the little shuffle picture on the summary screen..pretty lame if you ask me.
