Skatepod

I need help buying a new ipod i have a 5.5g ipod with video but i skateboard and don't want to use it while i skate cuz its bigger and i don't want to break it so the ipod shuffle seems IDEAL for skating but i was also thinking about the ipod nano (with vid) but its a bit more pricey so what do you all think?

PS: i dont really need video on the player but it would be a nice feature.

The shuffle is the optimal component for an active lifestyle even better than the nano in my opinion.

Get a shuffle if:
- you can manage having 240 songs, in random order without choosing
- you don't want a screen to mess up
- you don't need video or photos

Get a nano if:
- you need more than 240 songs
- you want to pick and choose your songs
- you want video/photo/games
- you need manual management

For just playing music the shuffle is the best option hands down, you can clip it anywhere don't need to fiddle with a screen or in your pockets for it, you generally don't need to go back and forth through songs I mean after all you'll probably load all your favorite songs.

i say go with a refurb 2g nano (without video) on the apple website. it's decently priced at $129 for the 4GB model, and it's not as wide as the 3g. it's well built for an active lifestyle. my friends who skate have the 2g nano and they've beaten on it for months (several have actually fallen on top of it when it was in their pocket) and it still works great for them. if you're interested, it's in the special deals section of apple.com

why would you recommend something that you have that has broken? that really doesn't make sense. if i had something and it broke, i would not recommend it to others.
