advice on used/refurb 2G shuffles

I'm planning on getting a shuffle to use for running/working out/etc. Since I prefer the original colors to the pastel garbage Apple rolled out recently, I'm looking at either getting a refurb one from Apple (since they're only $49) or buying one off eBay. I looked on ebay and there was a lot of sketchy stuff for sale in the iPods section (lots of knock-offs, some of which could easily pass as the real thing to the untrained eye). Anyone have any experience with either of these venues? I don't want to be taken for a ride by some fly-by-night ebay scam artist but I also don't want to get ripped off by Apple.

Your best bet would be buying a refurb off of Apple.

Do not be scared off by the fact that they are refurbished,
they are GUARANTEED to work, 100% functional.

I do believe however that a certain number of refurbished ipods are from minor scratches on the casing.

Unless you would find that exception unbearable, keep in mind they are MINOR ( if any scratches, then get new.

Otherwise,
trust apple,
get refurbished.

I have personally bought a refurbished 30g Video and it was in mint condition and I have not had any problems whatsoever with it, saved myself a cool 75-100 bucks too
:D
