I have seen many posts about songs being "greyed out" and not being able to edit the info.
I have this same problem. And for some reason i can't figure it out. Ill try to explain this the best i can.

I have recently just started using my ipod again, after a hard drive crash. All the songs that were on my ipod before are fine, and can be edited, same with the songs i have bought from itunes store since the hard drive crash. Now i have a problem with importing songs from CD's. These are not burned CD's, i bought them in stores. I can put them on my itunes, but as soon as they get there they can not be edited. I have tried many times re- importing them on my ipod, and it still doesnt work. I have checked, and they are not read only files. I have my ipod on "manually manage music".

i am completely stuck and have no idea what to do, can anyone help?

EDIT: Now all of the songs, even the ones previously on the ipod, are unable to be edited. Could this have anything to do with the fact that i ripped them off my ipod, and they are backup files
