battery meters- weird

ok so i turned on my nano today and noticed that the battery meter was almost all green 3/4 of the way full. so i was listening to it for about 10 minutes, and it had gone to that power saving screen with the time and battery level on it. i wanted to check the time, and when i did, i noticed that the battery meter on the power save screen was only 1/4 full. knowing that this was not possible, i gave the click wheel a little tap and i went back to the now playing screen, and the battery meter in the top right was still 3/4 full. thinking my eyes were tricking me, i forgot about it until a few minutes later, when i went to turn it off, the battery meter on the power save screen was even lower, but when it went back to the now playing screen, the battery meter in the top right was still 3/4 full, unchanged. this is a really weird thing, has anyone else noticed this on their nano?

The battery meter has been known to be very buggy and useless. I don't pay attention to it until it doesn't go up anymore and / or is stable.
