1.1GB of "Other" Files?
Hey all,
Ok this has been like it ever since i've had the thing from about 1 and a half year ago.

It's a 1st Gen 2GB iPod Nano.
All drivers up to date. And no i haven't tried re-formatting as i don't think it'll work and all my songs are on the actual iPod and i have no idea how to get them off.
So re-formatting is kind of last resort :)
Thanks all x

Seeing as disk use is enabled, have at look at the ipod in Explorer. Open My Computer and you'll find the pod under "Devices with Removable Storage".

You look to see if any extra files are sitting there taking up disk space. If so, remove them.
My guess is that you have a bunch of ghost files on there that are taking up space. You best best to try to remove these is to restore the iPod.
Depending on how you feel about this and that, you can turn on hidden folders and copy out the iPod_control folder from the iPod hard disk. This contains all your music. It can then reimported to iTunes and then transfered back to the clean iPod.
Alternatively use a program like Ipodrip to transfer music off the iPod.
