nano not working
My aunt just gave me her old iPod Nano (first generation), and it doesn't work! Initially, it wouldn't turn on at all, then I held down the center and Menu button at the same time and it came on. It said my battery was dead, so I tried to charge it. It doesn't charge. Essentially, it works every time it's NOT connected to something, but when it IS connected to something (i.e. outlet charger or to the computer via USB), it freezes up. Like right now, iTunes is open, and it's plugged into the computer, but it's frozen and stuck on the home screen (the light won't go off either). My computer doesn't even know anything is plugged in. The lightning bolt is over the battery, but it's not moving like it's supposed to be charging. Also, every time it IS connected to something, the iPod gets really hot. Any suggestions?
Also, I checked the serial number, and she bought it in December 2005, so it's no longer under a warranty.
