They're discontinued and haven't actually been shipping from Apple for some time. They've been sold out everywhere I've been for a few weeks now. If they are available somewhere, I'd expect they'll just return the merch to Apple and Apple will sell them as refurbs. Walmart got a new shipment of 2G here about 4 days ago which I'm sure is going to be their last. Some stores will still carry them for probably about a month or so. But as Code Monkey pointed out Apple stops manufacturing the old model as soon as the new model comes out.Price Drops and iPods don't really go hand in hand..iPods really hold their value. To get the best BANG for your dollar and the best condition I'd recommend purchasing them from the refurb apple store..because they are pretty much in new condition.
