I have a 2 yr old (approx) 20 gb monchrome iPod that suddenly started having an issue with no sound from either the headphone jack or bottom port. The screen indicates it's playing and from all appearances I can control the unit from the wheel - there's just no sound. After playing around resetting/powering off and on/etc I can get it back but I haven't been able to detect the exact pattern...it just comes and goes...it does seem to happen after I turn it on after it's been powered off for a while. I've read on Apple forum this may be a software bug. Any ideas if that's so? Is there a fix?
