Swapping drives around

Hi,
Currently got a 1st gen working fine. It's 4GB, new battery. I want to upgrade it to 8GB so have ordered an 8GB CF type I card. When it turns up I want to put it in my 1st Gen Mini. I then want to take the 4GB drive that has come out of mine and put it into a 2nd Gen mini that currently has a faulty drive, for my son.
Question - should this be ok ? - as in, can I take the drive out of the 1st gen, stick it in a second gen, let iTunes restore it in the 2nd gen and everything work ok ? :D :D :D

(I know, I know, unbridled optimism has no place in iPod world :shake: )

Thanks,

Dave.

As no-one else seems to know the answer - yes, it can be done with no problem...that's not to say it will always work with no problem, just that in this instance it worked - yay!!!!
