Vaja iVolution

I just received the Vaja iVolution. I went conservative and got black / black. The case is bautiful. I placed a Power Support Crystal Film on the iPhone and popped it in. I agree with the review that pushing the home button is hard. I am hoping the case softens up and this becomes easier

What case is it exactly? I have been looking at that new iVolution case that's on their home page. It's the orange one that is the sleeve. If this is it let me know where you read the review you mention. I have been trying to get info on this case for a while, but I can't find too much on it.

It was actually a first-look. However, the review is here:

I can confirm these are nice cases. They're slimmer than anything out there in leather (other than simple sleeves), which was a very important selling point for me (and constantly ignored by iLounge!). Many other leather cases that I've tried double the phone's width (or worse), and the Vaja adds very little extra bulk/bulge when I'm carrying the phone in my pocket. I agree with the reviewers, they'd be a pretty good deal at about $25.00 or so cheaper, but they're built like lifetime cases -- sometimes you get what you pay for.

My only complaint, other than cost? These things stink, as in smell of petroleum tanning agents (or something) coming out of the factory. Probably to be expected of a custom built leather product made to order that doesn't sit in a warehouse for months, but yikes. The smell diminishes over time, though.

So how is that home button? Is it that hard to use and does it soften up and get easier to push overtime? I'm on the fence about getting this case.

It is getting easier to use. I love this case. I may get an SP as well. I purchased a Vaja holster that is sitting in my drawer, not enough protection,

Man I've owned Vajas in the past and they look, feel, and smell wonderful. However, in this case, I'll need to take a pass this time. Toss in shipping and reality sinks in...you pay close to $100 for subpar protection AND useability.

I was lukewarm about the Casemate at first, but now that a zillion leather cases are out, if I went leather I'd probably go for the Signature. Just my two cents.

Now with 1.1.1 out you lose the double click home button shortcut. I can not get it to work with this case. For full iPhone functionality, they need to redesign. I am hoping the leather cover on the home button softens up even more so it does eventually work.

Hmm, no problems here -- yet. Does the cutout area of your case line up correctly over the iPhone button? (mine does.)

Guess we'll see how it responds after the leather has softened up a bit more.

BTW, in response to an earlier post, I really don't think the case requires heavy pressure to push the home button as suggested in the review, but it will take more than a feather light click. I can't imagine silicon of roughly the same thickness being much easier to depress.

But then, I do have a guitarist's finger muscles, so your mileage may very.

I was able to get the home button to work as desisigned when double clicked. Using this case does make it more difficult.

I think your guitar fingers do help :-)

Overall this case is fantastic and I do recommend it.
