Has anyone seen a teardown of iphone dock?
I was interested in seeing what is inside the dock for the iphone. Anyone see any pics?
Thanks,

probably not much, all it does is port the cable and extra inch so that your phone can stand up.

the reason I ask is because there is supposed to be some authentication chip to tell iPhone that the dock is iPhone compatable.

I'm also interested to see if anybody has tried the line out jack on the rear of the dock. If you plug speakers into this jack, does it disable the iPhone speaker and route the signal directly to line out?

MacNN (http://www.macnn.com/articles/07/07/03/iphone.dock.disassembly/) did a disassembly although I don't think they show what you're looking for.

In my experience, connecting a cable to either the line-out on the dock or the headphone/headset jack on top disable the external speakers (unless you hit speakerphone during a call.)
Oddly, I've noticed that while you can listen to a phone call with regular headphones connected to the headphone jack, it won't let you listen to it if you have speakers/headphones connected to the line-out via the dock.
