Is my iPhones battery defective?

Hi everyone, I just bought an iPhone on Sunday and last night I plugged it in to charge. My cat must have knocked the charger loose overnight because I woke up this morning and the phone was dead. It was at full charge last night. Should the phone lose battery power that quickly? Should I bring this phone in to be looked at?

First and foremost, welcome to the forums. In the future, it is helpful to search first, but no worries ;). I would suggest you try doing a full charge/discharge cycle, and seeing how the battery life is, then perhaps charging it and leaving it overnight. If it does indeed die quickly, then I would say that you do have a defective battery and should return it to apple.
