Questions about Verizon and SIM Card...

Hey!
I am really interested in getting the iPhone, but I have a few questions!

1) Can I unlock the iPhone and use Verizon as the carrier instead?

2) What is a "SIM Card" (use detail I am a n00b)

3) If I can use Verizon, can I use my current number (I am in the middle of my Contract)

Thanks so much!

Verizon is a CDMA network. iPhone is a GSM network phone. Short answer: no, it won't work with Verizon.

There's no point answering your last two questions as the simple answer is that, as Surf Monkey said, it is technically impossible to use iPhone on Verizon. It uses CDMA, a competing technology to GSM. SIM cards are not used on CDMA networks.
