possible to hook up ipod in car without stereo?
i've got a disc player in my car, but am undergoing a fuse shortage problem where my car shorts a fuse within a few minutes of putting in a fresh one. it's just my disc player overhead light and horn. it's an electrical problem and i don't really care to hassle with it at the moment. everything else is in working order.
are there any other ways? i was thinking something with the cigarette lighter.

no one knows anything about it? even if you don't know how exactly, just a glimmer of hope would be ideal.

so, the headunit (disc player) is basically not working and you want to be able to play your iPod in the car without using the stereo?
if this is the case, one of the many portable iPod speaker systems would work for you.
sorry, that's the only idea I have.

It's kinda hard to know what it is you want to do... do you want to divert warp power from the cig lighter to the car stereo? Get something heavy duty; the stereo will want at least 4 or 5 amps for rockin'.
Do you mean powering some speakers straight from the iPod? Not gonna happen; not enough power in the iPod output stage.

fix your electical problem. If you have an aftermarket deck, nine times out of ten it is either the wiring behind the deck, or the deck itself. It would cost you more time and money doing it backwards. And i have ran my ipod with no deck, to do it right, you need a line driver, and an amp.
