problem with hooking Ipod to Aux jack of new cd player

I just bought a new Kenwood cd player for my car with a front Aux jack to plug my Ipod into.

I took one of the miniplug cables that came with my stereo equipment and plugged it into the ipod/cdplayer , and it sounded horrible!

I first had to turn the Ipod volume ALL the way up to the max in order to even hear anything, then I had to turn the volume up on the ce player, but when I did a high pitched buzzing or whine came from the speakers, it lowered when I turned down the volume. I could not hear the volcals in some of the songs and in the rest it sounded like everything was in the background.

Also when I put my wipers on, I could hear some sort of interference noise.

The reguylar cd or tuner works perfectly. I had this trouble with my last CD player before it got stolen but it seems worse now.

Any help with my issue, or how does everyone connect their Ipod if they have a front AUX jack on their head unit?

IF YOU HAVE a usb cable use this to plug the ipod to the radio

if not most kenwood radios have a aux rca jacks in the back of the radio,if you do use this cable

Yea but my unit has the front aux jack for a mini-plug, which si suppised to be Ipod ready. I am connecting the mini plug to the headphone jack on the Ipod. I have seen cables where it connects to the bottom of the Ipod , instead of the headphone jack, and the other end is a mini plug.

The reason I got this, is because of the front AUX jack, so I woudlnt have to wire it to the rear of the cd player.

Maybe the noise is because im connecting it to the headphone jack instead of the bottom port?

Your stereo mini connector might be picking up the video signal from the iPod's headphone jack. (It would help if you'd specify which iPod you have ;-) If you take signal from the headphone jack, carefully check the plug you're using -- it should match the plug on your earbuds in length and number of "rings."

But for a better overall experience, use the dock connector. The Belkin AutoKit (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=149006) is a great way to go.

Thanks

I have one of the 5G Ipods, the black one. The mini plug looks like it is the right one. I think ill get one of those cables that has the dock connector on the end and a mini plug on the other. Its 14.99 from the Micro Center here.

If I had more money i would have gotten the one with the USB plug.

The Belkin is nice but my charger in the car doesnt work anymore, ill prob get that later once I fix it.

If I use the dock connector I guess I wont need to mess with the Ipods volume, just the radios, right?

Does anyone here use one of these Dock conenctors to Mini plug cables?

It is this model

Someone mentioned earlier that I might need a Ground Loop Isolator to fix my issue, but im going to go tonight and get the retractable dock/aux cable cord and see if that works. If not, eh i dunno what else to do.

this is what you need and you will control from the kenwood radio and charge the ipod at the same time

Hmm, the main reason I got this cd player is because of the front AUX jack, that I can just plug it in and unplug. I like using the Ipod to change songs, not the cd player. I spent 160 already, not sure i want tp spend another 40 or more.

With this cable, can I use the ipod still to change songs, and also, how would I plug in the Ipod into the cable? Will it run from under the dash and hang down?

I really wnated to use the AUX jack in front, but if I cant I guess Ill have to do this.

thanks!

I went ahead and bought the dock connector retractable cable with the mini plug on the end. It fixed almost the whole issue, however when I switch to AUX setting on my cd player, I hear a high whine from the speakers. nothing is plugged in at all. I don't think I hear it with the music on but when I unplug it I can.

Also, I have to still turn the music up on my cd player in order to hear the music, like up to 30.

on the radio menu of some kenwoods there is a source volume this needs to be turn up and it will be only for that source not the radio volume
