Just need something stable to hold iPod in car.

Yup. That's all I'm looking for. I have a 160GB Classic, and I just would like to put it in something other then a cup holder (which killed my last iPod, because it had a bunch of water in it...). I really want some type of mount that will put it at about the level of all my stereo knobs and stuff. Anyone know of any good mount that would do this?

Keep in mind I DO NOT need this to double as an FM transmitter, or whatever. I already have playback working fine in my car.

check out proclip (http://www.proclipusa.com/). they make a 2-part system - the mount that attaches to the dashboard of your car (without drilling or other modification) and then a device holder that attaches to the mount. i've used their stuff for my last two phones - works great. i posted pics of the last holder i had on another forum here (http://www.x3world.com/lounge/23704-treo-phone-holder.html). looks like they already have holders for the new ipods too.

This is not cheap but it is one of the best, you can also use any ipod plug and there is a video out for a monitor in the back
