Griffin iTrip vs Monster iCarPlay Wireless Plus for iPod

Hey before posting I looked around to see if there was a post like this but couldn't find it!

Anyway, I currently have the Black Griffin iTrip Wireless transmitter which looks exactly like this:

and I'm satisfied with it but at times it does give static even though I bought the car charger for it (I read here that having a car charger reduces the static by a bit).

Now I'm looking around and I stumbled upon great reviews of the Monster iCarPlay Wireless Plus for iPod:

My question is, is it worth upgrading to the Monster one?

My second question is, how is the Monster wireless? It doesn't make sense because the iPod has to be connected to the connector which goes into the cigarette lighter which makes it not wireless . . .
