Harman Kardon Drive and Play 1 wont play 5G 80gb
Hi
Although I can hear the music from my 5G 80gb through my car player the controls on the Harman Kardon drive and play won't work. It says ipod disconnected. I have checked the system with a 3g 30gb and a 5g 30gb and they work fine. All the software has been updated to the latest.
I checked my ipod on a HK D&P 1 at a store and it wouldn't play on that either.
I've read the posts about downgrading the ipod software for earlier versions but whats stops me doing that is that the 5g 30gb with the same software works and not being a techy it sounds complicated.
HK say it's a problem with the ipod which seems right.

HI I just try the 80gb with the hk dp1 and it didn't work so it is not your ipod
it works fine with the 30g video and mini,nano

Thanks for your reply. I was becoming suspicious that the hk D&P1 was not compatable with the 80gb. I have searched the internet for any info on this but as yet you are the first that I can find to have a problem. If it's not compatable with the 80gb for some reason HK shouldn't state that it is compatable.
Is there anyone who has got an 80gb 5G to work?

I have been using my 5.5g 80 gb for about six months. I just switched to a new nano and that is working also.

was that ipod release 6 months ago ?
It was bought in November 2006 from UK.
