Alpine 9850i or Pioneer DEH-P4900IB?
Hi
I am looking for a head unit to control an Ipod.
Looking at either the Alpine 9850i

or the Pioneer DEH-P4900IB

I want to control my IPod Nano (1st vr) from the car head unit.
Both of these are about 120 max...

HI
Not wanting to seem like I am bumping this up (but I am)
Has anyone got any info, advice or opinions of IPod controlling head units, around the 150 mark.
I have now extended my options to include
Alpine CDE-9850Ri iPod Full Speed

(of a side note, it does seem that head unit don't change that much year in year out compared to things like IPod's)

well i'm in the US, so i got the 9856...i guess its similar to the 9850 -- but i love it. sound is great, and i just stick my ipod in the glove compartment and forget about it. searching thru a large library can be a bit tedious if you don't have % search on the HU, but i've learned to live with it.
i highly recommend it.

I've got the 9850Ri, and I love it! It's great being able to flick between playlists, albums etc. via the unit itself. Sounds great too.
I also tested it today with my friends new 160GB classic and was pleased to see it worked perfectly, with all features (such as those mentioned above) working perfectly.

Hi guys
Just to let you know I got the
Pioneer DEH-P6900IB iPod Control
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-dehp6900ib-ipod-control-p-5667.html
It arrived this week and off on a surfing trip to cornwall today. So going to give it some good use, as radio reception can get a bit weak down there.
I have played with it so far and it is pretty good. Scrolling through albums and tracks is fast enough.
Having 3 lines of txt is nice.
If I had to critise it, then I would say the blue text is a bit annoying, would be nice to change to different colours, and the feel of the main button as you rotate it isn't as nice as it could be, but these are minor points....
Quite happy with it.
Oh except that to get the steering wheel controls working I need to pay an extra 50 for an adapter and an extra 80 for bluetooth adapter.
But I don't really need those..
Can't imagine what I need a remote for though..
