Well, are you on PPC, or Intel. Fro PPC users, I have used this.
http://www.touchdev.net/wiki/Jailbreak_Guide

I would use it only is you are comfortable using Terminal, and know command lines such as how to show hidden files as you may need to do this at some point.

But it's pretty easy.

there's a new GUI jailbreak that's just come out - iJailbreak ( http://www.ijailbreak.com/), which is supposed to be pretty easy to do.
I'm still on PPC so no way for me to try it out if I were so inclined :)

I used ijailbreak and it worked great. I wouldn't have been able to it otherwise I think. The only thing that took me awhile was figuring out how to put the NES ROMs on my touch.

I just can't believe that there isn't a more reasonable solution for non-intel macs.

There's no way I'm going to be arsed with the kinds of absurd, pedantic steps it seems it will take to jailbreak my touch when I really don't even have a clue where to get third party apps and software from in the first place.

I'm really starting to wish Apple would just role out it's own line of software, because this whole jailbreak nonsense is really starting to seem like more trouble than it's worth.
