I have recently been looking for some new ear/headphones since my current noise-cancelling ones were beginning to wear out. While I enjoy the sound in Bose's, they are just too expensive, so I decided to look for a cheaper, but still good alternative. A search on Amazon.com showed a pair from a company that I had never heard of, Audio-Technica. The price was 105 dollars, which I thought sounded pretty fair for a pair of active noise-cancelling headphones, so I searched on Google for some reviews and found some that highly recommended them, even compared to Bose's that cost 200 dollars more.

I decided to order them and so yesterday I received them, just in time for a flight trip across the Atlantic today :) . My first impression, even without having listened to them yet, was very good. They came with a nice carrying case, a gold-plated airline adapter and also a gold-plated 6.3 mm stereo adapter. The headset itself also seemed like high quality. So, I decided to try them out, and man was I impressed! Excellent sound, good bass (the bass was the one thing the reviews I read complained about, but it seems good to me), great noise-cancelling... pretty much everything I could want in a pair of headsets. It's also great that you are able to use them without having to turn on the noise-cancelling function.

So, in conclusion, if you're also wanting a pair of noise-cancelling headphones but think that Bose's are too expensive, then this is the headset for you. I can't recommend it highly enough, especially when keeping the price in mind.
