Shure SE110s
After some amount of research, I recently bought a new Ipod Classic and some Shure SE110's. I'm delighted with the Ipod, but I'm a bit disappointed with the performance of the Shure headphones. I'm a very eclectic guy so I listen to alot of everything including classical music. One of my favorite recordings is the Canadian Brass playing Pachelbel's Canon so I usually test any new headphones I get with that. I got a pair of Sennheiser HD555's last christmas that sound spectacular with the Ipod, but the shure's not so much. I get some bad distortion on the upper bass voice in that particular song and its a little depressing. I spend $100 on a pair of earphones and they had better not have any distortion and clipping. I turned the volume down, but that only helps a little. The song is on .wav on my ipod. might that have something to do with it?
Thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
Oh and a word about burning in headphones, I've owned many headphones and they always sound much better after a week or two's worth of usage. I'm hoping my brand new shure's will sound better too...
