E2s: Wheres the bass?
I got a pair after the Bose canal phones that my wife got me, kept falling out and the tips kept coming off.
Highs are much better but mine sound like there is no bass whatsoever. I have not really broken them in, but all these other reviews talk about decent bass.
I listen mostly to jazz with these. Just curious if they will get better over time.

It's critical that you have a seal. The phones need to sit in your ear like an earplug and should have a similar muting effect on sound around you. If you don't have a good seal with proper sized foam or rubber ear pieces, you will not get good bass.

You need to have a good seal for them to sound nice
When I had my e2c, I used the smallest black tips and Learned how to properly put them in they sounded great after.

unfortunately, i don't think the E2c's are known for their bass, regardless of the seal.

True, they don't have thumping bass, but it is there. They are meant to be more of a monitor type phone, not a like a consumer boom box phone. If you have a good seal you can still hear the low frequencies at about 50hz and it isn't drowned out by the slighty higher frequency bass like on most headphones. You need to experiment with the tips if your unhappy with them.
My 2 pence worth is, yes they sound better after a burn in. Especially the bass, could possibly be imagination, but I reckin my second pair (which I haven't burned in) don't sound quite as good yet in the bass department. They will do soon though:)

sebulr and captainnewbie are correct, the shure's aren't known for their bass capabilities, but their mids and highs are excellent. Acquiring a snug fit with the foam / rubber is difficult at first but you find what works eventually. Finding the right fit also helps with making sure the ear buds don't fall out as easily. It is however, extremely annoying with one ear bud will simply not fit properly, which does occasionally happen.
