Looking for new headphones for walking

I'm currently using sennheiser cx300 earphones and although they sound great, they block out too much sound to be suitable for use walking. I'm looking for a pair of earphones that will not filter out outside noise but still offer decent/good sound quality. Can anyone recommend me some?

So far i've considered the sony mdr-ex81's and the v-moda bass freq earphones. Can anyone comment on how much sound they filter out and their sound quality?

Thanks.

Unless you specifically want ear buds or canal phones, I recommend the Sennheiser PX100 (over the head) or PMX100 (behind the head 'street style').

That's what I use while walking. They offer excellent sound quality, are light and breathable, and let in outside noises, such as cars approaching.

A long time ago, I had the Sony EX71's, which are similar to the EX-81s you mentioned. They're going to block as much sound as the CX300s. I don't know about the v-modas. But I assume that any type of canal phones are going to block external sounds. Some more than others, I guess, depending on how deeply they are inserted.

So you probably do want either a bud (which will not stay in my ears no matter what, especially when I sweat) or open supra-aural 'phones like the PX100.
