Sony MDR earbuds
Ok, I have narrowed down some choices. I was reading some old posts about the Sony MDR headphones EX51LP and EX71SLA. I will have to save up some money and spend more than $25. :o
I am still looking for ones that give good sound, deep bass sound at the same time without adjusting EQ or turning the volume up, but I heard that these two were good (though they have so-so reviews at Amazon.com)

Considering those two headphones, I hope the answer is "as muddy as possible!" Sony MDR E888s are the only Sony buds I've listened to with good sound.

I am looking for one that goes good with R&B Soul and Hip-Hop. With solid sound.

I decided to go with the EX-51. I haven't bought them yet because the reviews about the ear tips falling off and not recommended for R&B sounds are so-so to ok.
Does anyone have these? I will get the EX-71s if those are better.

Don't get either the EX51 or the 71. Both are very comfortable, and both are better than skull kandys or ear thumps or Koss Plugs, but that isn't saying much.
It's the same basic phone (and so is the EX-81) and that phone is horrible, with powerful but very muddy, crude bass. You'll lose the subtleties of a fretless bass line, and two rapid thumps on the bass drum will sound like thu-ump instead of thmp!thmp!
You can do so much better, even if you want a bass heavy phone.
The EX-85 and -95 are rather better, if you are fixed on Sony, or better options in this kind of price range come from Sennheiser (CX300) and V-Moda.

Are the CX300 recommnended? I have read some hit or miss feedback here on them from sound and how are they are to put on? Are they bass heavy with a solid sound?

If you can afford to stretch, go EX90. If you can't, then CX300 or VM BFs are a good bet.

What about the PX 100's? I don't know why there are priced differently.
