Shure MPA Music Adapter
I don't like the Apple supplied earbuds so I picked up the new Shure MPA adapter at an Apple store yesterday. Now I can use my EC2 headphones and I have the same phone/ ipod functionality as the Apple earbuds. Trouble is between the headphones and the MPA adapter, I now have to contend with about four feet of cable. :shake:

Hey there, I was actually thinking about buying these myself since I love my e2c's the only thing I am hesitant on is the fact that like you said the cords are super long, but also because of the behind the head design of the shure e2, is it a pretty big hassle to deal with? I use mine at school all the time so putting a cord behind my back then wrapping it around to the front just for the mic / phone capabilities seems a bit coutner productive. I would rather just pull an ear bud out and pull my phone out and answer it. How does it work for you other than the cord being long?

The adapter works very well, same functions as standard iphone headphones. I'm told the audio quality is better when I am making a call w/ the Shure adapter. I am keeping my EC2's, but I went out and bought a pair of Sony EX71's because I travel a lot and cannot deal with the extra cord length of the Shure headphones + the adapter.

Just how long would you say the Shure cord is in all? Cause the shure e2c's cord isn't all that long. A bit short even in my opinion.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, but I got some questions to ask you. I'm wondering if this product came with a clip as I saw one in the press photos. Is the cable on the adapter the same thickness as your Shure earphones?

Ok since nobody is really participating in this thread anymore I will share my thoughts on the adapter since purchasing it. First off, I think a lot of people are exaggerating the length of the adapter. I have included pictures to show this. Obviously I have shure headphones so the length on those is already kind of short. (they are made to be hooked into extensions for live performances etc) The adapter works perfectly with shure headphones. No 3 ft of cords to contend with, and nice sturdy cabling that shure is notorious for (only slightly thinner than e2's own cable length. All in all, by far the best iphone purchase I have made yet and one of the most valuable.
Those that say the length is too long should consider the cord length of their current headphones before drawing conclusions on the shure adapter.
