iPod photo error 1418
I have been trying to get my ipod to work for three days with no luck. When I turn it on it just gives an odd looking screen with what might be the battery with the lightning bolt in black and white.
I have tried to format and update it several times but it gives:
The iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1418).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I fear it may be kaput.

You are gettin the exact same error im getting, I have an ipod mini 4gb unit. I installed itunes and it detected it, and then said there is an updated firmware for my unit and asked if i wanted to upgrade, i say yes and then i get that unknown error occured 1418. No i get the same screen you get with the lightning bolt. when i replug it into the usb i get a screen that says its corrupt do i wanna restore and update, i say yes and it goes to the error screen again.
