iPod Classic Battery Help?

I'm not too sure how many have an iPod Classic, but I'm experiencing some weird issues with the battery. This has been on going for the last week or so.

Since last Monday, this thing has been needing to be recharged almost on a daily basis. I use it only about 6 hours a day total, if that. I thought this thing was supposed to get 22 hours of music playback. Plus I dimmed down the background lights.

On Friday, I charge the iPod while at work, but never listen to it on the way home. I shut it down by holding the pause/play button and then placing the lock on it. I go to turn it on this morning, and the damn thing is dead needing to be recharged. Now I didn't turn it on at all this past weekend.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Sounds defective to me. Li-ion batteries should not discharge like that. I would return it to apple and get another one.

You aren't the only one I've read a few other posts where the battery hasn't been performing right. Take it back and get a new one.

I returned my iPod classic as its battery wasn't up to snuff. You are supposed to get at least 30 hours on the 80GB model and 40 hours on the 160GB model. I had the 160GB model and I only got about 22 hours each charge so I took it back as that was about the battery life that I would get out of my 5G 60GB iPod on a single charge.

Does the replacement work better for you?

It's the last iPod Software Update that did it. My battery lasted forever until that update last week or so, now it dies in one day.

it got almost 40 hours audio before that stupid update.

and i just returned it today, and will get a touch or wait for the new update release.

I didn't get a replacement. I decided to just stick with my 5G 60GB iPod whenever I want to take most of my lossy library with me.
