How do you take music from your ipod and put it on your computer?

There are third party programs that let you do it, but most were locked out by the firmware on the new iPods. In my opinion the easiest way is to enable disk use on your iPod, navigate to its drive letter, unhide all hidden folders on the disk, and simply do a file search on the drive for all audio files, or just the ones you want. Then, you can copy them.The search is necessary because every song on your iPod is placed in a random folder named with random letters, making it virtually impossible to browse them.

My version doesn't recognise the Classic but if I select Auto, it all works and copies fine. I guess the latest version of the software will just recognise the Classic.
