Hi All
I have just been given a classic 80gb for a present and have started to load stuff onto it, i have put 90 photos on, about 30 music tracks and 4 movies, the problem I have is that i have tried to load them on manually rather than syncing as per advice on forums and for some reason when i do this none of the movies stay on the ipod. if i do it automatically on sync from what i can gather is that everything has to be on itunes for it to be synced to the ipod.
I want to be able to load movies/ pictures on and then be able to remove them from my computer as I only have 80gb hard drive on my laptop and if i have to keep all the bits on the laptop incase i need to update just a little bit on the ipod then my lappie will be v. slow and i wont fit anything else on.

what am i doing wrong, if anything? or is this the way i tunes works.
forgive me for not knowing all the jargon but i am a bit of a techno phobe......
