Ok so, I get home, plug my iPod in, nothing happens. It turns on, and just shows the menu and acts asif the usb isn't plugged in. I'm pretty sure its not my pc, because everything else that I've tried with a usb cable works. And I have tried putting it in different USB ports. Has anyone else had this problem or know what might be wrong?

Without knowing any specific details (for example - what version do you have, a new classic or older version), I would troubleshoot in this order:- Disconnect the iPod from the computer
- Reset the iPod (hold menu and select button for 5 seconds until the Apple screen shows up)
- try different USB ports (I know you said you already did this...)
- next I'd try one or both of the following:
- uninstall iTunes, redownload and reinstall iTunes
- try a new cable which can be found relatively inexpensively
If all of these steps do not work it is time to have Apple look at the iPod either by calling Tech support or bringing it to an Apple store. Hope this helps!
