iPod Classic: Games & Sound Check
Has anyone else noticed that if you begin to play a game on the iPod Classic while listening to music, SoundCheck becomes disabled? I swear I almost jumped out of my subway seat when I started up Vortex and the song volume leapt. The moment I kicked out of Vortex, soundcheck seems to have re-engaged. It's repeatable and also apparent in the other games.

Yes, and it's not only the Classic. It's always worked that way, ever since there were games available. I have lots of games on my 5G 60. I learned to turn the volume down before starting up a game, because the sound check goes away. Not a big deal after the innitial shock.

It's better not to use Sound Check anyway, it really ruins the sound quality.
Better bet is to pump up songs that are too quiet a little bit with the gain setting.

yeah i noticed that. I put sound check on, to keep the loudness consisent, but i kept switching back and forth, and the songs didn't sound as great with the sound check, idk why. My main problem was, a couple of songs on my playlist were extremly loud, but i figured out you can change that on itunes.

I used iVolume to normalize all my songs a while back, which actually works in tandem with soundcheck. I feel like I've had great results.
