Anyone waiting for the new generation of ipod classic to come out next year?
That is if they make a new generation. Is anyone holding off on buying the classic hoping they will fix the bugs and problems for an improved model... one without the stupid clock screen saver. etc. Or do people generally buy a new ipod every year?

No I'm still waiting for them to fix the current classic.

I think they'll fix all that stuff in the next couple of weeks with some updates. Who the heck's idea was it to replace a music player with a clock anyway?
I'm just biding the right time to click "submit order" :D

I'll just buy a new one next year ASWELL :P lol.
I don't mind spending 159 every year, especially when they keep making them better. Also, tbh I get bored of the interface easily lol (or at least I did with the 5G).
There seriously isn't anything wrong with the iPod classic atm. Half the people who are complaining either just like to complain or expect the menus on a hard drive based music player to be as fast as anything...
If you ask me, the classic is just as awesome (if not 10 times better) than the 5G, so why hold off till next year?? :S

The sole problem with the Classic IMO, is the constant feezing iTues does when it's connected. I hope they get that issue resolved soon, it's driving me nuts!
(but it would be nice to be able to opt out of having the clock screensaver)

I'm just waiting for them to get the current model working right. That should require new hardware.

As much as I want to jump in right away and purchase the classic, I have some concerns with the many issues that users are facing. I need to send some serious updates before I make the investment.
In the meantime, I will take advantage of the new nano :)
