Re. the Nelly Furtado picture
On the Apple site and various others you see a pic of the iPod classic and you get half the screen with the main menu and half the screen you see a pic of the Nelly album.
As I understand it the classic uses split screen and I just wondered how that split screen would look on my iPod classic when I buy one. Can you select one of your album covers to fill that gap or what? Just wondered how it works.

It picks them randomly, they change every few seconds :)

Completely random, funny thing is I was showing my mom this and it just happened to show some girl sucking a banana is a provocative way..talk about embarrassing.

It's based on the albums you have on your iPod. I suppose in theory if you had no album artwork on your iPod, it would just show that note image over and over again.

The other day, Nelly Furtado's Loose showed up, and I felt really cool because my iPod looked just like the ads.:)

Is there a way to remove this feature? I just don't see the point of random album art. Eye candy like this hogs resources that obviously are sorely needed. (ref: menus lagging)

If you think that's embarrassing, just imagine if you had porn on there. It randomly displays photos and stills from videos that are on your iPod too. It's a cool feature, but it would be nice if you could exclude certain content the random slide show. Maybe a "don't show this to mom" checkbox in the get info section.

I think it only shows video and photo clips when you have "Videos" or "Photos" hightlighted, though, so you've got a little leeway.

And no, there's currently no way to siabel the split menu setup. However, if you REALLY wanted to stop it fully, you could disable all artwork on the iPod.
That said, in my opinion, without the album art, the new interface is ugly...

Apple does have a feedback page ig you're... Interested in provinding feedback.. About features your friends may need... :);)

hmmm what would be nice is if you could change it to go through your pictures instead of album art...i really could care less about seeing album art pictures for the most part have no personal feelings toward...pictures on the other hand...or even just like a selected my pictures area where you could just put background images...
any thoughts?
