Need help badly (Ipod + Pioneer Stereo)
Hi All,
Recently got an AVIC-D3 head unit and a CD-I200 ipod cable with a 160 GB Ipod classic. I've been experiencing something weird - when listening to music it will eventually freeze the track title and duration display - ie :50/3:00 or whatever the time is, the song title and the bar all freeze. I can hit next/previous track and it changes the title, but the time still stays at the last song. This happens without fail each time I use after about 5 minutes of use. Does anyone have any idea what this could be?
Pioneer says it's Apple, Apple says it's Pioneer, Stereo dealer say's it's my ipod... I love fingerpointing

Umm... just to make an educated guess.. i think it's the Ipod. That has nothing to do with the head unit at all.
If you are trying to get a new Ipod, dont tell them the exact reason. Just say it is freezing and you cant do whatever. Dont tell them anything about the head unit because they are just going to blame it on that.. which i highly doubt that is the prob.

If it was the iPod wouldn't the problem replicate on the unit ( I mean track titles freezing)? I haven't noticed this but I will test it some more @ lunch...

Does it still mess up without being connected to the unit? Well it could possibly be it if it connects through where the charger goes and not the head phone jack. if it connects through the headphone jack, its Apple all the way.

Use the SEARCH button, it's quite powerful.

I also have the Pioneer D3 with the ipod cable and bought an 80gb classic. Mine works fine and shows the correct tracks. Try turning off the cover flow option. I think the ipod has some issue with the cover art.
