Podcast Playback has gone to hell
First off let me say that the auto play of the next podcast could be a great feature if it would play from older to newest. The fact that it works the other way is mind boggling to me.
I could deal with that if it worked though. Right now My podcasts freeze at the end frame. I can exit and choose a different podcast but the ipod starts to play the next podcast after the one that previously froze.
This is frustrating to no end. Apple needs to fix this now or the ipod will be going back.

On my 4g I could go to genres then podcasts and choose all and I could play all my podcast like songs. If I hit the forward button it would go to the next podcast, It would even work in random order if I had that selected. So if I had downloaded 50 podcasts then iwould say 1 of 50 or whatever. This is very beneficial when driving as I don't have to look down and navigate through menus to find the next podcast. But with the 5g that is exactly what I have to do. I always says 1 of 1 and when it is over it goes back to the menu. I even tried to make a playlist with these podcasts to no avail. Does anyone know why this functionality is no longer there?

I have not subscribed to any audio podcasts. I'll try it and post results.
Not talking about actually subscribing to podcasts. But, I'm saying that a typical audio podcast or mix podcast is divided up into sub-sections.
Do you ever see the audio podcasts marked with little black lines on the track timeline? That's what I'm talking about then. When I'm listening to a Beatport podcast, each section is a new track because it's sort of like a mix of new tunes. And along with changing the track, new album artwork will display.
Apparently, it's not changing artwork like it's supposed to do. I've listened to the same podcasts on my 5G iPod and it works fine with them. Not a major problem, but I'm sure it will be fixed along with the many other bugs on the Classic.

These are called Enhanced Podcasts, they are typically made with chapters and/or extra artwork that changes with the chapters. They are an aac file as apposed to the standard mp3 file most podcasts are. I believe this issue on the latest iPods was mentioned on the latest MacCast (http://www.maccast.com/) (2007.09.13). I'm sure Apple will fix this soon, since the enhanced podcasts were their idea.

Here's a thread about the omitted support for enhanced podcasts:

One of the posters called Apple Care and they said support would be added in a future update.
