Giving Away My Old iPod

I am sorry if this is a FAQ but I have tried to find the answer and cannot seem to do so...

I am thinking of getting a new Classic because (believe it or not) my 80gig iPod is full up. If I do this, I will give my 5.5 gen iPod to my niece. Is it necessary to deauthorize or in any way deactivate my old iPod so that my niece can use it with her own PC's iTunes?

I do know that it's necessary to deauthorize old PCs, but I can't find any info about iPods.

No it is iTunes which is authorized, to play content that you purchased in the iTunes store.

Take the iPod to any machine with iTunes and when you sync. You get a message saying something like that this iPod was last synced with a different computer. You want to sync with this machine all the content will be lost.

You do not need to do anything special with your iPod though strictly speaking you should perhaps restore the orginal configuration of the iPod. Blow a way all its songs. You own the music on your old iPod not your niece.
