IPod Video Battery Replacement Issues.....Please Help?

Hello,

I have a 30 GB Ipod Video that I have had for 2 years. The battery is 90% shot, it won't hold a charge for more than 15 minutes. So I figured I'd use my Apple Care Protection Program and get a new battery. Turns out they won't replace it, because the Ipod is not totally dead. I sent it in, they sent it back to me with the same almost dead battery. I called to complain, I was told to send it back again, so I did and they sent me back the same almost dead IPod.

Needless to say I'm not to please with Apple. So I need a new battery. What are my options?

Get an aftermarket battery and risk installing it myself? I've read mixed things about how easy or not easy this is.

Or should I suck up the $70 and have Apple replace it? Eventhough I already paid $60 for the Apple Care crap.

Some suggestions would be very appreciated. Thank you.

My 30GB Video is also 2 years old, battery life never really what I expected, and now it stays charged for 1 - 1 1/2 hours. I was excited to have found a site that sold battery replacement along with great instructions, customer reviews, and customer service. I thought I'd have maybe even more life than when I purchased. Low and behold it made no difference. I've contacted the company who said they'd refund my purchase and offered another companies name that could evaluate my problem. It's not their fault the new battery didn't help, but I'm pulling out my hair wondering what is causing the problem. Otherwise, the iPod functions as normal. Company you might contact - Ipodjuice.com. Sorry I didn't have much to offer, and maybe you just need to replace. I can imagine you are disgusted with Apple's customer service.
